  • Man imagine being so entitled and demanding a gas station attendant to go suck the gas out of your car that you just put in. WHAT IN THE WORLD. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • @C P oh ok just a battery swap. I thought like you went to install a battery lol. Ya a swap you just take the old that should already be out and set new next to old grab old and go. 5 min tops. If battery not out and ready to go just dip and return only once battery removed. You are a parts supplier not a mechanic. They want a mechanic then call a mechanic. Want parts only and repair yourself then call auto parts store to drop off the parts. If have a few extra bucks hand the delivery person a few bucks. Dont matter if 2 bucks or 10 bucks i bet they appreciate the extra 20 bucks each day and i personally find that a smile and a tip gets better service. If you smile and talk nice to people they more willing to help you out. Bitch and yell and soon nobody wants to do business and shuts you out. No employee ever deserves to be yelled at and treated badly. Dont like the service you can either ask to deal with a different employee or go else where. 0 fighting both ways.

    • @Shawn Kelly no we didn't do battery on that model because of amount of labor involved. My job was merely to verify his warranty and swap physical battery. Not change it in the car. If battery swap called for 45+ minutes we didn't do it as there were only ever 2 employees on duty. If I could do it in 30 minutes or less I still did it, and did plenty of other things just to be nice like adding freon off the clock since we were forbidden to help regardless of whether it was triple digits outside and persons situation. I clocked out multiple times to add freon or change a buld for single moms off the clock to avoid issues, but Autozone still fired me for getting hurt. NC worker comp laws allowed them to refuse me medical treatment since I wasn't well enough informed. Autozone is without a doubt the most abusive company I ever worked for and treated all employees as disposable.

      C PC PСарын өмнө
    • @C P so your job was to replace the battery? Well once battery changed you completed the job you were paid to do. I have helped strangers if broke down and stranded and not expect anything. If they ask how much they owe its 0 to whatever you can afford but if they demand it then the price goes way up.

      Shawn KellyShawn KellyСарын өмнө
    • I worked at autozone for years. The lenient return policy that's rarely enforced let's people get away with pretty much anything. I once had a customer insist that I replace his alternator ( a 6hr plus job with proper tools) in the parking lot with the basic tools set we had to change batteries. I refused and he argued and wound up calling corporate... I explained it was 6 hr + when they called me as I have multiple family members and friends that are mechanics and can look up labor. Yeah his van got towed and he got called out as fucking stupid for expecting such in front of a store full of people for being such a f**ktard. By the way it was his literally boiling battery gone bad breaking the circuit not the alternator bad.

    • @Shawn Kelly Any fuel removed from a vehicle cannot be reused. It has already been sold and cannot be re-sold. Also, it is considered contaminated and must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Unless you have a good mechanical siphon it is difficult to siphon fuel from a vehicle without some spillage. For a gas station a spill is a Big Deal because of the environmental and hazardous materials rules they have to comply with. One commenter suggested punching a hole in the a-hole's fuel tank to drain the fuel - that is at least vandalism and maybe more because the a-holes car is now undrivable - and you can't stop at removing "only the fuel that was out in". Same with cutting the fuel line at the tank. Best case scenario involves the police taking care of the a-hole. Other scenarios involve state tax and environmental authorities, and maybe still the police. As for other people suggesting using buckets or trays, those are possibilities IF they are readily available, which is not always the case. And then you still have to safely dispose of the fuel anyway. No, you cannot (legally) let it evaporate and you cannot (legally or safely) burn it off.

  • That last one reminded me of my childhood. I'm the youngest of 3. My two older sisters were raised by our grandmother in a different state, and the middle child is 10 years older than I am. When I was 8, the middle sister came for a visit. She was 18. The day she was getting ready to leave, she asked mom if she could have my V-tech kids computer. It's basically just a fake computer with simple educational games for kids 4-10. She was 18. I loved that V-tech so much and I cried when my mom said she could have it. She's always like this, as she feels bad for not raising my sisters herself. BG: My sisters chose to stay with our grandmother when my father had moved us to the state we currently reside in. They constantly made mom feel guilty by saying she abandoned them, when she didn't. Well, because I was crying that my 18 year old sister was taking my favorite toy, one I loved to death, she threw the plug at me and screamed "Fine you can keep it!" Now the plug was one of those plugs with the huge brick on one end, and it hit me on the head. I'm just 8 years old. 18 year old throwing a heavy brick of a plug at an 8 year olds head, yea. I don't remember much of her leaving, but what I do remember was that my V-Tech, NES, and all my NES games were gone when I came to. I never saw any of it ever again.

She didn't even know it had happened, I don't think, just that the police went to her house and had a talk with her. They got it worked out, and I don't think that my mom got in much trouble for it, as it could happen to anybody new to filling up a car's fuel tank and whatnot, but I'm willing to bet that she was scared.

Anyway I'm watching TV she comes home, points at me, and says, "give me the tv" mostly I would have said no and blow her off. Needless to say my parents told me to give it to her I said no and got my way, which was rare. Normally this would seem normal to kids. I was in my 20's and my sister was 18.

  • A bit of a long story but I worked in busy gas stations for 12 years and ran into every kind of person. Some really nice and lots really rude. Esso said we had to put up with their crap and as a trucker's wife I refused to. I don't back down to anybody. Had one guy come in 2X about a week apart and steal about $80.00+ gas each time. The 3rd time he came in I went out, with another customer, to see if I could get a front plate number as the back one was stolen. No front plate so I "innocently" asked him if that pump was working ok for him because it was giving the fellow with me a hard time. Then I asked if I could see the inside of his Dodge Durango because I was thinking of buying one, and he said yes. While I looked inside I took the keys from the ignition and put them in my pocket. Then my customer and I went back into the store and I called the police and got into it with the dispatcher when I told her this was #3 visit and I was told by an officer if he came back to call right away and they would come and arrest him. She said they didn't send officers out for "drive off's" right away then I told her "forget it, thanks to you he's leaving, he must have hotwired it or had another set of keys". My customer ran out and followed him in his personal truck until he got down the highway a few miles and the bad guy pulled over and switched licence plates and headed back up into town. My customer called 911 and the guy was stopped just as he got into town. They sent an officer to get my "victim statement" and I handed her the keys, she said I had "bigger balls" than most men in the town and it was brave of me to take them. She helped with the statement so I didn't get into trouble for taking the keys. Hubby gave me a big lecture when I got home about taking too many chances.

  • Entitled cousin.... There's a word that helps in such situations. "NO". No explanations needed, no negotiation. Just No. For family, if they're really hungry with no options for food, I'll see that they eat. No they won't come with wife and I on a fancy dinner, but they won't starve. Likewise they won't freeze in the cold homeless. If need be I'll buy a trailer and some scrub land somewhere, or rent a low rent apartment somewhere.... but they won't freeze. They won't live in our house (unless they're someone close we trust) but I'll see they don't freeze. Being one of the better off of my cohort in our family I feel those are my familial responsibilities as such. And I'll live up to them. But I've no obligation to provide others the comfort and privileges my wife and I have worked and struggled fifty years to attain.

  • My aunt (mom’s sister) is like the story about the entitled cousin and the trip to Asia. My grandparents (mom’s parents) weren’t in anyway rich but we’re smart about money and therefore financially comfortable. Comfortable enough to take two nice trips a year. My aunt would pester my grandparents into letting her and eventually her hell spawn to go with. She would get all mad and bent out of shape if it was even considered to bring my mom or, heaven forbid, any of us (there were four kids in my family). Since my aunt and my sister are so much alike she didn’t get mad that my sister went with them once. She threatened all kinds of crap when they wanted to invite me. My aunt is a horrible person and pretty much always lived with or got financial help from my grandma. My grandparents were very close to me so anything I did with them my aunt would force them into spending time with my spoiled rotten spawn of satan cousin. I miss my grandparents so very much but kinda glad they don’t have to deal my aunt or cousin anymore.

Modern vehicles have an anti-siphon baffle in the filler tube, and you must disconnect the fuel lines and filler neck before dropping the tank to drain gas, or disconnect the engine end of the fuel line, put the end in a storage container, and command the fuel pump to run with a scan tool.

Now the boys are grown, they have invited me to go to Las Vegas or elsewhere with them. I politely turned them down as I couldn't afford a trip across the state, let alone across the country (USA). I did have hopes they would offer to pay part of it, but when they didn't, I didn't bring it up. In my mind, if it isn't freely offered, then it's pretty much stolen. They aren't greedy or selfish, they do many things for my sister and me. They just have boundaries I respect without question. It's not their job to take me on a vacation!

    • They didn't invite you for a trip, they suggested the opportunity to go on holiday together, that's a huge difference. If they "pay back" for your babysitting doing things for you everything is fine and dandy.A person who invites pays.

  • On what part of what planet were those people hatched? I feel guilty asking a server to make sure my food doesn't come into contact with shellfish because I have a severe allergy to it and don't like the idea of using my epi-pens. So far, they have been very kind and I haven't ended up in the ER after eating there, so someone give them a huge bonus! To DEMAND something that isn't yours, that belongs to someone else or is causing them harm... F them and the fake bs they rode in on! Making a request based on life or death is one thing, but to make demands because you are lazy or criminal, I hope someone puts a hot poker to you where the sun doesn't shine! Those of us with LEGIT requests suffer from IDIOTS who fake things to get a pass. Two hot pokers for those who fake having service animals. Maybe three, if the animal caused mayhem! I HATE FAKES!

  • The last story, this is exactly what my kids and I do. We have "family" that always feels entitled to things we have. We are not rich by any means. But as a single mom, I know how to shop. And thankfully my kids were not picky. We'd shop in clearance and thrift stores. So we had "brand" name clothes just never paid the "brand" name price. Anyways, when it comes to getting rid of items, we always take them to local Goodwill (that's where entitled family like to shop alot). They are always b***ing about seeing our stuff there 🤭😅 We always reply, "Oh oops. Forgot to tell you we were getting rid of stuff. Now you can just BUY it from Goodwill if you really need it." Guys, this has been on going for 15+ YEARS!!! And still going. You'd think by now they'd all take a hint 🤔🤔🙄🤦🏽‍♀️smh🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

  • The last story reminds me of the last time I allowed my cousin and her son to know where I live, her son was in marvel of the gundam's I was painting and asked to have one I said no my cousin tried to use the we are family argument I told her and her son it was time for them to go, her son threw the mother of all tantrums and smashed the unpainted model I had. I had my building security escort them out and let her know I didn't want her to return.
